Upendo FM Radio

Upendo FM Radio is a religious (Christian) Radio operated by the Eastern and Coastal Diocese of
the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, established in July 7 2004 and inaugurated on August 29, 2004.


Upendo Fm Radio has been broadcasting a number of programs that are most
liked by our listeners mentioning a few like:
(1)News Bulletin: (11: 00am – 11: 05am, 03:00pm – 03:05pm, 07:00 07:10 pm daily), we disseminate local and foreign news that have been thoroughly investigated and meets Media ethical values.
(2) Wanawake na Jamii: (08:10pm 9:00pm Friday’s) This program discuss about the burning issues that encounter women during their day to day activities such as women and legal rights; gender; children rights; leadership; the protection of HIV/AIDS infections from mother to the child, entrepreneurship; and savings and credit cooperative society to empower women economy.
(3) Mazingira na Makazi (08:15pm 09:00pm Tuesday’s) The program advocates about Environment and settlement, how to keep the environment clean, environmental conservation, how to combat soil erosion, effects of over population etc.
(4) Amani na Maridhiano: (10:00pm 11:00pm Wednesday’s) The program deals with peace and reconciliation debate where by different people with high exposure are invited to discuss about the issue globally.
(5) Mitaani Live (EYE WITNESS): (07:45 am 09:15am Monday to Friday) it’s a program that reporters from different parts of Tanzania are reporting what is happening to their areas. It’s a kind of current affairs reporting (Breaking news).

(6) Imani Yako: This is a religious program which discuss about faith. Christian pastors lead discussion and invite listeners to air views and ask questions pertaining to the issues being discussed.
(7) Uponyaji: It is a live program conducted by evangelists whereby listeners request prayers to God as regards to their needs.
(8) Wasemavyo Watoto na Upendo FM: (10:00am 11:00am Saturday’s) it’s a children program deals with Sunday School children from different churches and sometimes we also invites the displaced children to air out the real situation they are facing and people make calls to give them support.
(9) Tunu ya Ujana: (02:00pm-03:00pm Saturday’s) it’s a Youth program enriching them spiritually, mentally and physically – 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
